The CIN Group has just acquired the French group, Monopol, which operates in the general industry, glass, industrial bodywork and aeronautics segments.
This purchase is part of a strategic project designed to boost the portfolio of products and segments, while simultaneously expanding the scope of the geographic markets where the Industry Business Unit operates.
The Monopol Group is based in Valence (France) and in 2014 its turnover was 20,6M€.
The turnover of the CIN Group in that year was 194M€, with the Industry Business Unit accounting for 60M€ of that amount. Its importance in the group has thus been boosted with this acquisition.
The Industry Business Unit is the product of an initial spin-off within the CIN Group in 2007. The purpose was to pursue the sound, ongoing development and consolidation of its intervention in the industrial paints market where, based on its key competencies, it is assured of significant relevance and can bring added value to its customers by promoting advanced coatings, developed and tailored to their specific needs.
At present, with industrial platforms in Portugal and France, around 50% of sales are supported by foreign markets, with special emphasis on those in Central Europe where demand levels are higher.
